- CALCIUM MONTMORILLONITE: Desiccant Calcium Montmorillonite is a naturally occurring clay mineral known for its strong adsorptive properties, making it highly effective as a desiccant. This type of montmorillonite is a specific form of bentonite clay, where calcium ions dominate its composition.
- HOW TO USE: Place montmorillonite granules into an enclosed storage space, until the montmorillonite needs to be replaced. Adsorptive Properties: Calcium Montmorillonite has a layered structure, allowing it to adsorb moisture effectively. This makes it an ideal material for controlling humidity in enclosed environments. It is mined from deposits found in various parts of the world. The clay is processed to enhance its moisture-absorbing capabilities.
- Environmentally Friendly & High Moisture Absorption: Being a natural mineral, it is non-toxic and safe for use in a variety of applications, including food and pharmaceuticals. It can adsorb up to 20% of its weight in water, making it effective in preventing moisture damage.
- How to Reactivate: Place the montmorillonite granules in an oven-proof bowl then place it into the oven to reactivate for 3 hours at 356 (180C).
- Content & Applications: 2 packs 9 LBS clay montmorillonite desiccant and desiccant beads size is 1-4mm. Commonly used in packaging to protect goods from moisture, in industrial processes, and sometimes in environmental cleanup due to its ability to adsorb various contaminants.
