Customer Reviews

Secure FitGreat product, I fit two Quick Clot, tourniquet, knife and chest seal in this. Just make sure that your pants aren't "tapered" at the bottom. Will not come off when running. 5Works as intended and discreetBeing a small guy space on my Sam Browne is limited so I needed another way to carry my tourniquet. The velcro feels really strong and sturdy. It has not given up while on patrol. I imagine wearing this tightly around the leg might be uncomfortable but wrapping it around my boot works perfectly for me. 5It works, but isn't perfect.I use this product for work. I needed a medical kit that I can have on my person at all times while at work. I needed something that I can wear with a full patrol uniform as well as while I'm training and teaching in all light and weather conditions. This ankle medical system checked all those boxes. It holds quick clot dressing, an NAR emergency trauma dressing, a Soft-T tourniquet, a pen light, and a small knife.I have worn it for about 3 months now with no problems. It has held up under some strenuous work and training.I wear this on my right ankle above my boot. It has not come off and does not shift or move around while wearing it.Now for the 3 star rating. The velcro that is used to attach it has the loop (soft side) away from your leg and the hook (hard, scratchy side) near your leg. This is obviously a design failure, since the hook side is not comfortable rubbing on your skin.I will continue using this until I can find something that is more comfortable to wear for an entire shift. In the meantime I have found a fix by putting a peice of adhesive backed velcro together and putting it in the area that touches my skin. 3Great, but not perfectI don't typically carry a pistol this way, but I can, depending on my pant legs. It is much more stable than I expected and the weight is quite comfortable. 2 lbs of gun and ammo does not noticeably affect my stride. It works well with dress pants, but my jeans legs are too narrow for the band with the pistol. I can carry the tourniquet and spare mag with all my pants. Sometimes something at the bottom of the band will poke into my leg uncomfortably, but a slight adjustment fixes it.CONS that keep it from being perfect- Magazine pockets are not tight on single stack XDS mags. I would prefer a velcro strap over the top and I may sew one in.- Bottom of band is visible when you sit and your pant leg rides up. Red tab on velcro flap is too noticeable and I will probably color it black or cut it off.It has become part of my EDC. 5Good Idea, but not well executed. No elastic, so not snug. MOLLE is centered so most attachments ride too high or too low. Main pocket with flap has area behind that would be another great pocket, but the bottom is open. High priced for such a simple ankle holster. I wish things that were for cops were not so overpriced, quick clot, Israeli bandages and OMG tourniquets. 3Not for Concealed CarryI do some protective ops work and was looking for a discreet way to a carry streamlined individual first aid kit/tourniquet. I often carry my backup (Glock 42) in an ankle holster and figured this would be about the same, just on the opposite ankle. Let me start by saying this is not really designed for that niche. This appears better designed to wrap around the upper nylon on a GI desert combat boot (the thin ones, not the Oakley Assault Boot styles). I say this because there is not a comfortable backing across the back like you would expect. In the attached picture, you can see a thin strip down the center of the backside. It seems to be there to create friction and stop slippage against a boot. The nylon seems on the top and the bottom of the back rub against bare skin and are horribly uncomfortable. If you wore thick boot socks, that might be enough padding to create some comfort, but it will not work against bare skin. Next, there isn't a well thought out way to change the size. The smallest, functional circumference of the device is 14". I'm 6' tall, a medium frame of 180 pounds, and my ankles measure 9.5" in diameter. To wear the device on my ankle leaves a 4.5" excess flap - which is the molle panel and would have to lay on one of the pouches as there is no method to retain the excess. Alternatively, if you keep about 2" of velcro in contact, you can make the circumference of the device as large as 17.75", which is long enough for my boots. However, when worn around the boot, a pair of 'boot cut' jeans with a 15" flair doesn't move naturally around the device when loaded. FYI, the 'boot cut' jean with 15' flair is my go-to to conceal a Glock 42 or 43 on my ankle with typical casual shoes or low-top day hikers. So, no, this doesn't work for concealed carry. I can make it work with several modifications, but it's not a very good base to even start with. It would be easier and more cost effective to make one from an old ankle holster designed for this kind of work. As an overt carry ankle holster... well I have to ask why? If you plan to open carry this thing, why would you place it on your ankle at all? I feel that there are far better small belt-mounted options. 2Good idea not so great deliveryI bought this to carry a GSW rig on my ankle in case I ever get shot. The rig seems strong and well made but it doesn't really work for my needs. I've had to modify just about everything on it to make it work for me. After my modifications it works great and doors everything I need it to. After wearing for nearly five months, it seems to be holding together well, only time will tell. 3Great for plain-clothes or off-duty copsI've been using the Galco AnkleVault for years and wore the stitching out. I was shopping for a replacement when I came across this. I definitely prefer this solution. It comfortably holds handcuffs, two spare pistol mags, a pen flashlight, and an extended handcuff key. It is customizable with the molle straps also. This is perfect for a plain clothes cop or the CCW type. The velcro makes for a secure fit. I've only had it for a few days but I'm impressed. This is a far superior solution over the Galco system, IMO. 5... go into this with realistic expectations it's a really nice product. If you pack a pressure bandage and ...If you go into this with realistic expectations it's a really nice product. If you pack a pressure bandage and a tourniquet in the elastic pockets and some combat gauze, gloves, and quick-clot in the big pocket, it is going to be bulky. But the Velcro holds tight and it's padded and comfortable. Fits well under regular sized duty or tac pants. Really nice product. 5Does the job pretty wellThis works really well for me. There seem to be a lot of complaints about the Velcro having the hook side facing in toward your leg, but for me it's pretty much a non-issue. It does wear a little on the tops of my mid-top boots, but so does my Galco ankle rig on my other leg. Just like my G26 in the Galco ankle rig, this thing won't fit under straight leg or slimmer cut pant legs. I wear it under relaxed-fit cut jeans. It holds ALMOST everything I carry for a complete trauma kit: smaller/older-gen CAT, celox rapid z-fold gauze, HyFin chest seal, nitrile gloves, NPA, and a small roll of duct tape. I carry an Isreali pressure dressing in the back pocket opposite my wallet to complete the kit. Whenever I wear pants I can't fit this under, I have a small non-descript bag that this all will fit in perfectly that I can just carry like anything else. Good buy. Recommended. 5
